During this course I learned about weaves, burn tests, color fasting, and the different types of fabric. This project focused on the application of textiles in a residential setting for a client within a budget.

The client was an active, adult couple with 1 child and a budget of $15,000. A cost breakdown The client had very specific needs regarding high sun exposure and medium traffic patterns. Based on these requirements, along with strong preference for warm tones and contemporary styles, different textiles for the sofa, arm chair, ottoman, pillows, and trim were chosen. Paint and primer were budgeted as well. Additionally, a hand- rendering of the living space based off of a reference photo determined textile yardage.

The textiles chosen are mostly blended fabrics containing viscose, acrylic, and polyester to resist fading from sun exposure. The textiles chosen are durable and luxurious, creating a comfortable, upscale living environment.
